Version 7.0 of jdMinecraftLauncher is now available! Here are the most important changes.

New icon​

The first thing you'll notice is a refreshed icon — cleaner and more modern.

Faster startup​

Key parts of the launcher were rewritten, resulting in significantly faster startup times. Less waiting, more playing.

Mrpack support​

You can now install Mrpack files directly in jdMinecraftLauncher. A Mrpack is a package format for modpacks (used by services like Modrinth). While jdMinecraftLauncher doesn't provide modpack browsing or management (that's out of scope), you can install a downloaded modpack with a single click.

NeoForge and Quilt installation​

Previously you could install Forge and Fabric with one click. Version 7.0 adds one-click installers for Quilt and NeoForge as well. All mod loaders are now grouped together in the new "Modloader" tab.

Single-instance behavior​

Opening a profile from a shortcut while jdMinecraftLauncher was already running used to spawn a second instance. Now profiles and Minecraft launches are handled by the existing running instance.

jdMinecraftLauncher is now integrated with KRunner and GNOME Search. Type a profile name to start it directly. For the Flatpak build, you need to enable this feature in the settings of your desktop.
